The Site Ecologies of Air Street + Lavender Hill:

 

Observing a backstreet near Piccadilly Circus and a high street in Battersea for contrasts and similarities, I was drawn to how the systems which sense communication in each context are manifest, and edited each context down to only the sensing mechanisms.

 

By “observing the observers,” I sought to understand how we take in signals within urban space. These drawings show the differences between the sites rendered as an abstract index of the sensing mechanisms within each context, in lieu of landmark buildings and other traditional signifiers of location.
